From book design and publishing to jigsaw puzzle creation, Australian born graphic designer/publisher, Sandra [Sandi] Nipperess finds peace and satisfaction in creating for others.
Sandi’s passion for the arts is attributed to her talented grandfather, Jacobus [Jack] Christiaan Barnard and mother, Johanna Christina [Chris] Nipperess nee Barnard—whose works are showcased as jigsaw puzzle Watercolour reproductions in our online jigsaw shop. As a child, Sandi and her siblings watched their grandfather in awe as he created beautiful handmade jigsaw puzzles from large recycled REVLON and ELIZABETH ARDEN cosmetics posters, procured from a local pharmacy in Toronto, NSW. When complete his jigsaw puzzles would be circulated around for all of his family members to enjoy.
In 2022, as a tribute to her grandfather’s extraordinary talents and the many hours he shared teaching others, Sandi had his Watercolour painting, Circa 1905, recreated as a jigsaw puzzle. It has since been distributed throughout the family, bringing back joyful memories for all. With years of support from her husband and business partner, Rodney Brooker, their joint passion for the arts has been realised in their jigsaw puzzle business, PUZZLE Road and design business, BrookNip Designs.
With 35 years of designing and the advent of today’s advanced design technology, coupled with artistic collaboration from other talented Australian and overseas artists, Sandi doesn’t see herself retiring from the arts anytime soon. We invite you to view and shop Sandi’s jigsaw puzzle designs showcased under the BrookNip Designs Collection.
