Born in Russia, Elena developed her passion for art in her early years. After studying at the Pedagogical University of Kazakhstan, she started her career as Visual Arts teacher in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Since 1998 she has resided with her family in Australia. Since 2004 Elena has participated in many group art shows and exhibitions and won numerous awards and commendations, including international prizes.
Elena works in various media, including painting in oils/acrylics, mixed media, colour pencils and scratchboard engravings. Her favourite genres are animal/wildlife portraiture and observational still life drawing with emotional engagement and a hint of quirkiness and symbolism.

Elena is a former member of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists (AGRA) and Wildlife Artists Society of Australasia (WASA) and a signature member of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists (ISSA).
