About the Artwork
Dormer’s photography in this collection highlights a range of heritage structures nestled within varied Australian landscapes. The Garden Hut and Wallaces Hut in Victoria showcase rustic architecture framed by lush greenery and towering eucalypts, embodying the solitude and beauty of the Australian bush.
Craig’s Hut, a favourite of many, captures the morning light against weathered wood, celebrating its iconic status in the Victorian highlands. The Life Guard Hut #45 in Queensland, with its vibrant yellow against a coastal pink sky, adds a touch of whimsy and colour.
Crawley’s Boat Shed in Western Australia and the Dove Lake Boat Shed in Tasmania both reflect Dormer’s appreciation for serene waterside scenes, capturing calm reflections and open skies. Together, these images create a story of resilience, simplicity, and connection to nature.
"I seek to capture the quiet beauty of these places—the kind that tells a story of Australia’s untamed landscapes and the people who’ve left a mark on them." – Jaime Dormer
