Born in Russia, Elena developed her passion for art from early years. After studying at Pedagogical University of Kazakhstan, she started her career as Visual Arts teacher in Almaty, Kazakhstan. From 1998 she has resided with her family in Australia and from 2004 Elena has taken part in many group art shows and exhibitions and won numerous awards and commendations.
Elena works in various media, including painting in oils/acrylics, mixed media, colour pencils and scratchboard engravings. Her favourite genres are animal/wildlife portraiture and observational still life drawing with emotional engagement and a hint of quirkiness and symbolism.

Elena is a member of Australian Guild of Realist Artists – AGRA, WASA – Wildlife Artists Society of Australasia, ISSA - International Society of Scratchboard Artists.
